• 1977年 順天堂大学医学部卒業（1972年米国留学）
• 1977年 沖縄県立中部病院卒後研修（インターン、外科レジデント）
• 1981年 イリノイ大学病理、外科 リサーチフェロー
• 1984年 イリノイ大学病理 博士（Ph.D.）、イリノイ大学外科 修士（M.S.）
• 1985年 久留米大学第一外科 助手
• 1987年 ペンシルバニア医科大学外科 研究講師(Assistant Professor)、レジデント
• 1993年 ピッツバーグマーシー病院外科 レジデント
• 1995年 ハワイ大学外科 準教授 (Associate Professor)
• 1997年 米国外科専門認定医
